Muddy Says: Bring a touch of Portuguese design and materials to your home and wardrobe with Lusophile, a stylish online edit created in Battle, East Sussex
Born from Emily Hedges’ love of all things Portuguese (Lusophile means liking the language or culture of Portugal), this online edit began life in Battle in summer 2017.
The lifestyle brand sources top quality homeware, clothing – for men and women, gifts and accessories.
Many of the items featured are handmade by small, independent Portuguese design labels or family-run businesses which Emily is passionate about making available to a wider audience.
The country’s long history of craftsmanship in textiles, ceramics, cork and more is combined with new technologies and design trends to keep things bang up to date.
As a bonus, many of the featured brands are also committed to sustainable production practices.
You’ll find handwoven cotton rugs with colourful designs; backpacks and yoga mats made from lightweight cork; flannel chinos; ceramic coasters and kitchenware, and toiletries incorporating natural ingredients, like donkey milk soaps and lavender shaving foam.
There’s also a range of Portuguese foods like honey, fig jam, and pretty loose leaf herbal teas.
Sign up to the Lusophile newsletter for regular updates on the collection.
