Seven reasons your kids will love Camp Beaumont this summer
Wondering how to keep your child entertained during the long summer school holidays? Camp Beaumont offers fun, flexibility and a feast of fabulous activities for kids and teenagers.
1/ IT’S FUN, FUN, FUN
Let’s state the obvious first! And that is that kids’ camps are fun – with a capital F. With a range of activities to suit every child – from arts and crafts to sports and adrenalin or and coding – there’s a lot going on to keep kids entertained. Camp Beaumont is the most established of all the camp providers, caring for children for 40 years now, so they know what they’re doing and they know what kids love.
Whether your child is the life of the party, or prefers a smaller crowd, day camps like Camp Beaumont are a great way to make new friends outside their usual social circle and improve their social skills. But as well as making new friends, it’s also a great way to stay in touch with school friends during the school holidays.
Childcare in the holiday is all about the flex, right?. You can book your child in for as little as one day or as many as five days a week at Camp Beaumont, and multiple weeks across at 45 different locations across London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Herts, Berks, Bucks, Oxon and North Devon (hmm, tempted to book them in the whole summer?!). Also worth knowing, the camps are held at schools, usually independent schools, with amazing facilities.
4/ CAMPS FOR ALL AGES
Organising your teenager’s life will trigger maximum eye rolling, and for them summer day camp may garner visions of being stuck with a bunch of littlies doing craft or kiddies’ sports but that’s just not the case. There are programmes here for each age group: Playtime for 3-4 years; Magic for 5-7 years; Active for 8-11 years; and Teens Club for 12-16 years. Each camp programme is tailor-made by age group with something for everyone to enjoy from the craft-loving seven-year-old to the most energetic 10-year-old. Even the coolest-of-cool teens will relax the scowl in the grown-up, club-style vibe of the Teens Club.
5/ LEARN NEW SKILLS
In addition to the arty and active challenges (who can resist a water fight or epic street dance battles), there’s an opportunity to learn things like DJing and golf, coding, film making and yoga.
6/ BOREDOM, BE GONE!
Let’s face it, every parent wants their kids to spend less time on their devices and more time ‘doing’ stuff – whether that’s just hanging with other teenagers at the Beaumont Camp Teen Club or participating in the mini-Olympics as a four year old.!
7/ SPECIALIST STAFF
Camp Beaumont’s Group Leaders are an inspirational bunch, bringing an infectious enthusiasm to each camp. We love that the emphasis is not just on keeping kids entertained and getingt them outdoors and active, but to challenge them, teach them how to relax and unwind, learn to express themselves and connect with other kids. All staff are specially selected and trained, and there’s a minimum child to staff ratio, depending on their age group. For the 3-4 year-olds, that’s 1:8.
Camp Beaumont (01603 851000) runs day holiday camps for children aged 3 to 16 at 40 different sites in London, the Home Counties and north Devon, including Cottesmore School in Pease Pottage. Its multi-activity days run from 8.30am to 5.30pm (extended hours available), costs from £42.60.
