Great British Wine Tours
Muddy says: A brilliant way to discover more about Sussex’s vineyards with tours, tastings and lunch in lovely surrounds
English sparkling wine is really coming into its own – winning awards and beating French tipples in blind tastings – and Sussex has more vineyards than any other county.
Expert-led but fun, Great British Wine Tours will whisk you from central Brighton to tutored tastings and lunch in leafy surrounds under the South Downs. There’s a maximum of 14 guests on the tours and you’ll visit two vineyards with a tour and tasting at each. The handy pick-up point for tours is Jurys Inn Hotel directly behind Brighton Station and it’s only 20 minutes from there out to the vineyards.
You can also choose a Cheese Tour linking a vineyard with cheese tasting at High Weald Dairy and a Brewery Tour visiting two leading Sussex breweries. To really make a day of it you can combine a vineyard with the Bluebell Railway or Seven Sisters Country Park.
Private tours with friends are available, and gift vouchers so you can give the experience as an original present.
