Snowdrop Inn, Lindfield
Muddy says: A recent refurbishment is among good reasons to check out this village inn serving up pubs classics including vegan options
Fresh from a refurbishment, under new management, the Snowdrop still retains its character, with old beams and low ceilings and a cosy woodburner for the colder months.
The menu, with much of the food sourced from local suppliers, is big on pub classics, so you may find the likes of slow roast belly pork, smoked haddock, beer battered cod and burgers on the menu. On Sundays, naturally, there’s a choice of roasts with a proper nut roast for vegetarians. There are also vegan dishes and a kids’ menu.
For lighter lunches, sandwich choices may include onion bhaji, grilled halloumi or cumberland sausage.
Besides beers from Hall & Woodhouse the drinks menu includes a wide selection of gins.
The Snowdrop sits in pretty Lindfield which has a duck pond, smart boutiques and a village green – host to cricket matches in summer and bonfire celebrations in November.
