The Highdown, Goring-by-Sea
Muddy says: There are plenty of reasons to make a trip to this recently refurbished hotel, pub, tea rooms and charming secret gardens rolled into one
The Highdown, in a 19th century flint walled mansion building just outside Goring-by-Sea, West Sussex, is a recently refurbished hotel, pub and wood panelled restaurant rolled into one. It also has its own standalone tearoom and gorgeous neighbouring gardens to explore.
There’s a choice of spots to eat to suit the mood, occasion and weather, with a wood panelled dining room, bar area and terrace. Take your pic too from a large menu ranging from light bites to main meals and Sunday roasts.
Alongside the hotel and bar is a tearoom serving sandwiches, toasties and cakes and beyond a hedge is a wonderful secluded garden founded over a century ago and open free to the public.
The Highdown is handily situated off the Littlehampton Road within striking distance of Worthing, Brighton and the Downs, Littlehampton and Arundel and there are circular walks you can do in the area.
