Designer-maker Alex realised his dream career lay in making bespoke furniture the day he dragged a solid oak table home to his workshop to upcycle – and nearly collapsed in the process!

From inauspicious beginnings Zayin Studio, in beautiful Wiston in West Sussex, was born. Alex creates unique bespoke designer furniture from reclaimed or ecologically sustainable – and always beautiful – wood.

You can shop his designs online or commission a bespoke and luxe piece for your home to reflect your own style and personality.

His speciality is crafting feature tables – the kind of piece you can build a room around and that welcomes you home every day. He’ll also still dabble in a bit of upcycling, if you ask nicely, so that old wooden table you don’t know what to do with could have a new lease of life.

With Zayin, Alex’s aim is to head up an eco-friendly, all-natural, zero-waste furniture making business.
