The Danish concept of hygge (pronounced hue-gah) has been around forever but this winter it seems to be spreading its warmth to the UK. I noticed a whole display of books dedicated to the subject in Foyles at Waterloo station the other day.

So what is it? It loosely translates as a feeling of wellbeing through cosiness. From slipping your feet into warm slippers to snuggling up on the sofa in a candle-lit living room.
