Igloo dining pods come to Brighton!

Cosy up for winter wonderland dates and parties in Coppa Club's trio of pop-up pods in The Lanes.

Here’s a fabulously insta-worthy winter warmer. These cosy igloos have just landed in Brighton’s Lanes, courtesy of Coppa Club. They’re perfect for a romantic meal in the heart of the city, or a fun and photogenic Xmas get together with friends.

The festive alfresco dining pods are woodland themed, with candle lanterns, faux-sheepskin rugs, blankets and dried flower installations and are overlooked by evergreens.  It’s all designed to make you feel you have entered a winter woodland, with trails of dried hops and flowers, old man’s beard, nigella and poppy seed heads, grasses and asparagus fern.

The council-approved pop-up igloos are clustered round the dolphin statue in Brighton Square just outside the Coppa Club restaurant and will stay in situ over the winter months.

They are similar to the hugely popular pods Coppa has had outside its Tower Bridge restaurant in the last couple of years that have gone on to spark an international trend with copycat structures as far afield as Sydney! Now you don’t have to go to the capital (or Oz!) to enjoy that style.

Coppa Club has been open in Brighton since September, bringing its concept of all-day dining in relaxed spaces to The Lanes, with one of its access points via the new Hannington’s development.

The restaurant is designed to have a similar feel to a members club – except it’s open free to all. Besides traditional dining tables there are plenty of colourful lounge areas inside for more casual lingering over a coffee, cocktail, light bites or sharing desserts.(look out for the vintage Vogues round the coffee tables!)

The menu (also available in the igloos) is divided into mains and grills – like chops, steak and trout and pizza and pasta. Breakfast (weekdays) and brunch (weekends) are also big here, ranging from a stack of pancakes to a full skillet breakfast to a decadent Lobster Benedict! There’s even a great value children’s menu. Check out the Muddy review for more on the scoff and quaff options.

Fancy some igloo dining? The three winter pods are available for bookings from Wed 30 Oct and you can reserve your spot at But be quick – bookings for Coppa’s London’s pods sold out in 48 hours! You can also try your luck on the day with one igloo set a side for walk-ins 12.30 – 20.30 daily.
