Win a meal for two at Source!

Enter our comp for a meal for two with wine at the new farm-to-fork Source restaurant at Proud Country House, Brighton

Ready to indulge again post-Christmas blow out? Of course you are! Here’s a very enticing comp to get your feet back under a restaurant table. And what a restaurant it is…

Source opened at the end of November, serving up seasonal British dishes in Grade 1 listed Georgian mansion Stanmer House, in Brighton’s Stanmer Park. The building was recently restored and officially re-launched as Proud Country House. It is set in acres of parkland, should you feel the need to earn your meal with a walk.

The restaurant not only has a gorgeous look, it serves up locally-sourced meats, fish and produce from within just a twenty-mile radius! Hastings sole; roast rump of Southdown lamb; a chichory, watercress and Brighton Blue cheese salad, and a Sussex pond pudding with lemon sauce are just some of the tempting dishes on the menu.

To celebate its opening, Source has teamed up with Muddy to give away dinner for two with wine between now and the end of February. That’ll certainly cheer up the dreariest months of the year!

THE PRIZE

A three course meal for two, and a bottle of house wine to be redeemed anytime from the end of the comp to the end of Feb.

Sounds like an amazing experience… Having my birthday at the beginning of January I can’t afford to go out since I have children. This would be a really beautiful present!

Why change the name of the house..? It’s got history. Proud Country House does not. Done the same thing as some football stadiums. Poor work..

I agree about why change names. I live in Devon we have a beautiful place called Gittersham house sat in gorgeous surrounding and it is now called “The Pig”. Doesn’t inspire you to go there!

Sadly, I cannot enter the competition as I refuse to subscribe to Facebook. I may try the restaurant sometime with my Brighton-based friends, but it’s a little out of town, so the downside is that one of us will have to drive. Also – can’t understand why it has been necessary to rename the house. Everyone in Brighton knows Stanmer Park and Stanmer House standing within its grounds (it’s been there long enough). Changing the name to something that bears no relevance to the place is likely to cause confusion. Willing to bet that the locals will still refer to it as “Stanmer House”!
