<p>Despite the fact it’s owned by iconic 90s model Jodie Kidd (who also took fellow fashion star, Abbey Clancy on a tour of the pub for her ITV celeb homes show) this stylish gastropub has a laidback vibe. In keeping with Jodie’s love of horses, its interiors are equine inspired and warmed by roaring log fires in the winter. In the summertime, head outdoors where generous parasols will help you keep cool in a garden complete with a lawn for the kids plus herb-filled borders and raised veg patches. The produce ends up on a menu that&#8217;s conscious of keeping its food miles down but above all delicious, and not above pub classics like sausage rolls either. And to wash it all down? The landlady&#8217;s a vocal fan of nearby winemakers Nyetimber and the Bolney Estate, so expect some of Sussex&#8217;s finest wines alongside local pints. </p>

<p>You&#8217;d expect a class act like Cate to keep a low profile but Crowborough&#8217;s local lady of the manor has been glimpsed at least once at this friendly village pub. It draws a crowd for its bottomless brunches and seasonal cocktails as well as its Sunday roasts. </p>

<p>Love him or loathe him, he is a Sussex local. Piers Morgan&#8217;s been spotted having an occasional pint at the bar of this Newick fixture, famed for staying true to tradition. It has everything you&#8217;d expect in a village pub, complete with flower-filled hanging baskets, timbered character and real ales on tap. They do a steak night as well as classic pub grub and they have a beer garden you’ll want to make a beeline for at this time of year. </p>

<p>We reckon Dame Judi Dench knows a thing or two about the living the good life, and if she chose The Old House Inn as the backdrop to a portion of her 90th birthday celebrations, we&#8217;re ready to drink to its 16th-century charm. What else does it offer? Sunny seating for golden afternoons, laidback lunches — dinners, too — and lashings of local ale. </p>

<p>Before she swapped Lewes for the bright lights of Brighton near her ex, Fatboy Slim, presenter Zoe Ball was rumoured to have been a regular at this pub. She was spotted here with her family multiple times by fans and who can blame her? A former&nbsp;<a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/awards/">Muddy Awards</a>&nbsp;finalist, The Griffin Inn has a garden so big it’s nicknamed the Serengeti, with views of the South Downs. Inside, it&#8217;s equally beautiful, with beams and a great menu that&#8217;ll satisfy foodies and kids alike.&nbsp;Muddy hears that when Kate Moss visits her father, Peter, for family get-togethers, she heads to this pub too. </p>

<p>The Reverend Richard Coles is many things, including a radio presenter, an <em>I&#8217;m a Celebrity</em> contestant, and a cosy crime novelist. He&#8217;s also a Friston resident and is downright evangelical when it comes to the community benefits of good old local boozers. He recently singled out The Eight Bells, an award-winning pub with a welcoming bar, landscaped gardens and heaps of history. Not that that&#8217;s stopped it trying out new things, including Friday Night Takeaway (look out for the chicken pot pie) and a Social Club with cocktail-hour specials. </p>

<p>Former <em>Strictly Come Dancing</em> star and YouTuber (ask your kids if the name&#8217;s drawing a blank) praises this pub for its Sunday roast, regularly making the journey from her native Brighton into the countryside. With an emphasis on meat, the pub serves up special steak nights. You can even sign up to join its ‘tasting panel&#8217;, where you’ll get to try their latest experiments in the kitchen. Yum. </p>
