A child’s flexible friend shouldn’t be a credit card (perish the thought) but what they’re wearing and Horsham’s KJF Clothing – (available online) has just the thing, with a fab range of soft and fun shorts, leggings and more to see active kids through summer and beyond.
The Muddy Awards finalists for best children’s business (previous called KJF From Scratch) sells eco-friendly clothes made from organic cotton and bamboo. In fact it’s really going for it on the ethical side, working on waste reduction and even giving 50% of its profits to charity!
The idea came to founder Kim Fentiman while she was on maternity leave from her teaching role and searching, without much success, for clothes that were ethically made, reasonably priced and fitted round her daughter’s cloth nappy.
Having dabbled with making blankets and newborn gifts before she set about creating her own clothing range.
Some of the fabrics like these giraffes and pineapples are exclusive to KJF, the others are by popular designers in the UK and EU. All are designed to be soft and flexible and fit with or without a nappy underneath.
The same great designs can be found in leggings and us grown-ups get a look in too as some are scaled up for adults – great for yoga or pilates.
There are also romper suits and dresses with the same cheery designs.
Most ranges come in sizes for newborns to 6-year-olds and make a great gift even if you haven’t youngsters of your own that age.
