<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-lowdown"><strong>THE LOWDOWN</strong></h3>



<p>No doubt aware that many of us can be a little reluctant to ‘get them out’ so-to-speak when the sun shines, <a href="https://www.thetreatmentrooms.co.uk/">The Treatment Rooms Brighton</a> have recently re-introduced the <a href="https://legology.co/?">Legology</a> collection of treatments to their repertoire. After all, aren’t legs always the bit we neglect? Muddy certainly forgets to moisturise or do a proper post wax care regime.</p>



<p>There are two types of treatments from the Legology brand to choose between &#8211; one for your bum that focuses on hip, buttock and thigh sculpt and firm as well as a promise of a ‘fix’ to the upper thigh as well as any muffin top. Their words, not mine. Or, you can focus entirely on the legs, with a ‘vigorous’ and deep pressure contouring massage to shape and contour pre holiday. Being the massage obsessed person I am, and with problem thighs and with returning to running, it made the most sense to go for the leg contouring treatment.&nbsp;</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-location"><strong>THE LOCATION</strong></h3>



<p>The bright lights and bustle of Brighton, can, at times make it more of a challenge to carve out a little serenity in the city, so it’s not often that Muddy does more than the essential maintenance here, leaving the longer treatments and massages for further afield. However, and this a big however, <a href="https://www.thetreatmentrooms.co.uk/">The Treatment Rooms Brighton</a> have managed to achieve a mini haven in the North Laines opposite the newly restored Brighton Dome. On a week day it’s perfectly calm and you head to the salon in sane mind.&nbsp;</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-vibe"><strong>THE VIBE</strong></h3>



<p>For a city clinic, there’s a deceptive amount of space, there’s also no messing around when it comes to fast tracking you into relaxed mode. On arrival I was whisked upstairs and shown where my fluffy white robe and slippers were and offered a herbal tea and water. The changing facilities may be more on the petite side but there’s mirrors, hair dryers and all you’d need, and on the Monday afternoon I visited, I had everything to myself. The waiting room, may not be the most relaxing space as it’s more of a walk-through area but the staff are so quick to see you, there’s only a few moments before you’re taken to the treatment room with the right level of ambient spa music, via a corridor of long white floaty curtains. The treatment rooms are low lit, spacious and create the exact sense of calm that’s needed. Post-treatment the relaxation room will offer up a day bed, cosy blankets, more herbal tea and the right antidote to stress.&nbsp;</p>

<p>You know you’re onto a good thing when things kick off with a warm foot bath and a gentle cleansing and care of your feet. The tension (caused by running, ok, who am I kidding also a lot of inappropriate shoe wearing) floats away and then I climb onto the heated bed &#8211; another essential at any beauty clinic! What follows is more of a wake up for my tired, slugging, heavy legs full of hormone related water retention too, the body brush gets things going and reminds me why I need to a) do this more, b) make that do it at all and c) why it works. My therapist covers my calves, thighs and glutes and I feel this is going to be transformative.<br><br>While the bad toxins go up up and away, it’s time for the scrub, this is actually more gentle than I’d anticipated and I start to relax, knowing things are being taken care of. The scrub is applied just to my lower legs and then gentle removed with a flannel so I don’t have to get up mid treatment to wash it off, something I sometimes struggle with. I’ve never had cupping before &#8211; where suction is created on the skin &#8211; but here it’s not painful and is over with pretty quickly and I’m not left with any marks a la Gwyneth Paltrow when the alternative medicine first came into the mainstream. The idea is that is drains the lymph nodes and rids you of toxins.</p>

<p>Now it’s time for the best part: the massage. Using Legology’s Cellu-Lite  specialist oil &#8211; lets face it, I need all the assistance I can get here &#8211; there’s a relaxing but powerful massage and I drift off, floating away while a medium pressure is applied to my neglected legs. After I’m suitably mid dream, a light weight cream, Air-Lite Daily Lift For Legs,  is applied which has a gentle glow &#8211; perfect for bikini time when it arrives. I float off into the relaxation room where a tea awaits and I do my best not to have a nap as work and daily life is calling. Nooooo.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-results"><strong>THE RESULTS</strong></h3>



<p>It’s advised you have a course of Legology treatments, once a week for six weeks and more frequently, for a pre-summer fix. I can’t comment on the longer term benefits after one session but what I can confirm is my pre-menstrual legs felt so much lighter, I I had such bad water retention and aches from running and the treatment just lifted me, as if I was floating again. My skin was silky smooth for a good fe days after. I can imagine if you’re a frequent flyer, suffer with leg pain or have a big holiday coming up then you’d want to book in. But as we know beauty starts on the inside, and I certainly felt cleansed inside out and with a considerable weight off.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>GOOD FOR:</strong> After a long-hail flight, before you brave the beach for the first time this year, if you suffer with water retention and heavy legs. The treatment is also suitable for pregnant women.</p>



<p><strong>NOT FOR:</strong> Anyone who wants instant results or a full hour-long relaxing massage.</p>
