Drakes of Brighton

Seduction by the sea – this boutique Brighton hotel with glorious views and sassy, elegant features is a romantic and sexy A-list fave.

Drakes is just sooooo Brighton – it’s so Brighton in fact that Cate Blanchett and Kylie stay here when they’re in town (not together, as far as Muddy knows, but if they were that’d be soooo Brighton too).

Located in super-trendy Kemptown almost opposite the pier, this boutique hotel over two Georgian townhouses has 20 rooms, parking (a rarity in Brighton) and stunning sea views in some of the feature rooms.

Sassy and packed full of character, expect clean, fresh and modern decor and Art Deco-style details, while retaining Georgian room sizes and floor to ceiling windows. Goodies as standard include smellies from The White Company, a waffle robe and slippers for the duration, freshly-ground coffee, glam mags, Wifi and Sky TV.

For an extra treat book a superior or feature room with a free-standing bath with a view, and splash to your heart’s content in front of the dreamy windows. Lovers can request champers, rose petals, choccies and much more – Muddy’s not smirking at all at the fact the Love Hamper, full of goodies from Brighton’s cult erotic emporium She Said, is priced at £69. Oh, stop it.

Book the whole hotel for a wedding, it can hold up to 40 and Conde Naste Traveller says it’s a perfect venue. Who are we to disagree?
