Based in Steyning, the brand was born out of a desire to acknowledge and reward those balancing a busy career with family. Founder Katie Overton-Hart (known by her initials, KOH – hence Initial Gin) had a successful career in the live events industry with unsociable hours and international travel. She knew too well the realities of a multi-tasker and wanted to create something her family could be part of one day and so G&H Spirits was born.
Partnering with an award-winning distiller, Katie applied an uncompromising approach to her brand and embodied the strapline ‘it’s what we stand for’ to the Initial Gin range, and parent company Georgie & Henners, after her two children.
With three multi award winning Initial Gins, each with selected quality botanicals that let the flavours speak for themselves G&H keep things simple – even the product names are just three letters, so they’re easy to find and remember!
LDN INITIAL GIN; LONDON DRY GIN
Their signature Gin is elegant and effortless. Lemon zest packs a punch, matched by the natural sweetness of clementine, and delicately balanced with cocoa and macadamia. For the perfect G&T, serve in a chilled glass loaded with ice and fresh citrus segments and your favourite Indian tonic. Why overcomplicate things?
OTG INITIAL GIN; OLD TOM GIN
Whilst acknowledging yesteryear, this is reimagined classic Old Tom Gin. It’s intense and indulgent created with orange zest, a hint of cinnamon and woody top notes, all sweetened with a touch of honey. A mixologist’s gin of choice brings great depth and complexity to cocktails – or just enjoy on the rocks with a splash of ginger ale and squeeze of lime.
BST INITIAL GIN; BRITISH SUMMER TIME GIN
Fresh and fragrant, BST is the true essence of summer. Inspired by (and perfect for) lazy days and long, warm evenings, it combines floral fragrances of night-scented stock with a hint of cool cucumber. Living is easy and so is the serving: a tall chilled glass, lots of ice, cucumber-based tonic water and a sprig of fresh mint.
