Whether you’re a complete beginner or a pottery pro, The Clay Studio on the Kent/Sussex border, caters for all – that’s every talent, every personality and every level of clay-related experience and does it oh so stylishly in a spacious and bright studio.

It’s fully equipped with everything to help you make a masterpiece whatever you interpret that to be and most importantly, have fun doing so! From throwing wheels to large light handbuilding areas and even beautiful outside spaces to work or relax in, the studio is a destination of its own.

It’s located at Barnsgate Manor Vineyard, on the edge of Ashdown Forest, so your visit will benefit from stunning views of the South Downs that will no doubt provide creative inspiration. The Clay Studio offers a wide range of pottery workshops including weekly classes, weekend workshops and courses as well as private tuition.

The classes, courses and workshops are run by experienced teachers who prioritise every pupil, giving individual guidance as well as introducing new techniques and throwing on the wheel. Or you can sign up for a taster session to get a feel for things and there’s also a chance to enjoy the outside space with outdoor firing days. They also offer private customised sessions for hen, stag and birthday parties, corporate days or special events.
