Following extensive and elegant renovations, this popular pub is back pulling pints while also pulling off live entertainment and events with aplomb. Oh wait, they also offer incredible food – all locally sourced and freshly prepared, of course. The large and rather beautiful garden plays host to live music in the summer and has oodles of space, meaning big groups can catch up in comfort. 

Speaking of large numbers, the pub will soon be able to host weddings and special events in their new function space – opening soon – with unique packages catered to your choice of celebration. There’s a large outdoor function space for summer events too. But it’s not all party party, the garden is also there for a quiet tipple after a walk around one of the many circular walks surrounding the pub.

The menu follows a themes of classics aside contemporary options, on Fridays the menu focuses on fish from Brighton and Newhaven fisheries. Burgers, meat, nibbles and vegan options all heavily feature, so whatever your palate and preference, you won’t be disappointed. Nom nom.

The pub has an effervescent energy about it, helped along but it’s regular events from pub quizzes to pie nights and live music throughout the year. It’s an all-year round pub that looks very pretty in the snow offering warming roasts and delicious red wines and come summer you can frequent the pub from one of the local glamping and camping sites nearby.
