<p>When you’re in the company of the likes of Hugh Bonneville, Caroline Lucas and Kate Mosse you can take the cultural high ground. Kicking off this weekend, the literary festival takes place at key landmarks around Shoreham and promises to get the creativity and well, critical thinking juices going. There are creative writing and poetry workshops, jazz and poetry nights, talks, debates and themed walks. You’ll find something for every personality or just go solo and book yourself in. </p>

<p>Quick, catch the last few events at this 10-day event that’s entire raison d&#8217;etre is to champion local sonic artists. Ok, their other objective is to help inspire locals to ‘explore and experience the joy and profundity of sound art.’ Where you’re up for it or not, you’ll certainly gain something by exploring your senses and letting sounds entertain you. This weekend there&#8217;s a kids workshop with gamified listening exercises, a voices of the water event, poetry readings and a whole lot more. </p>

<p>Passionate about supporting indie artists? Well Scottish songstress Nina Nesbitt who start off in pop and climbing up the charts in the mainstream is going it alone. Now with a more folk-like sound true to her routes she’s working hard, gigging in small venues up and down the UK. Her new album, I’m Coming Home follows from her tour with Ed Sheeran and she’ll perform these tracks in an intimate venue. You can also pick up a copy her the album at the show. </p>
