<p>Park up at Petworth Park &#8211; not the National Trust property (as beautiful as it is) &#8211; and set out on this walk. It&#8217;ll take you around some of the country’s oldest beeches, limes and oaks. Some of them date back to the Norman Conquest, lets hope your love lasts as long as these trees! It’s a circular walk that’ll take you through the woods in all the right ways and then you can warm up at the pub. Muddy suggests <a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-welldiggers-arms-petworth/">The Welldiggers Arms</a> a traditional inn with the best pork scratchings around. And there&#8217;s a lovely conservatory where you can watch sunset in the warm with a glass of red. </p>

<p>Sitting pretty by the Kent border is a magical 46-acres of birch and chestnut trees that are beautiful even in the depths of winter. The silver shade of the birch and their elevation makes for a dream romantic stroll. Just be mindful you will encounter some mud and puddles (big boots at the ready). It won’t take long to wander through the trees but you can find some magical quirks from plastic toadstools to mallard statues. To warm up, head to Birchwood restaurants that offers chic dining in a casual setting. </p>

<p>Secluded and, dare we say it, a little seductive this walk has tree lined paths for stealing a secret kiss as well as views towards the South Downs. There’s a labyrinth of tracks to move across as well as almost 200 acres of park to explore. You can choose to take the mile long circular nature trail that’s marked with sign posts. Oooh, and a few kissing gates, do with that what you wish. You’re be very close to <a href="https://www.ridgeview.co.uk/">Ridgeview</a> vineyard where you can head for some fizz. There&#8217;s also <a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/artelium-wine-estate-streat/">Artelium Wine Estate</a> &#8211; you are in the Sussex Wineland’s here so you’ll be spoilt for choice. </p>

<p>This is the highest point in the South Downs, impressive, eh? But where better to elevate your love than right at this location. You may need a little puff to walk up but the view is your reward &#8211; which makes it all worth it, right? There is a viewing point as well the all essential circular bench you can have a rest and breathe in the beauty of across Sussex. You’ll also find the Temple of the Winds trail that starts off near Haslemere in Surrey on the West Sussex border. You’re then a 15minute drive from classic country pub, <a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-halfway-bridge-lodsworth-west-sussex-muddy-stilettos-sussex/">The Halfway Bridge</a> in Lodsworth.</p>

<p>One of the rare non-pebble beaches along this stretch of the South Coast. It’s shingle here and at low tide wide masses of sand are exposed meaning you can walk hand in hand at sunset without the risk of a topple (when you know you know). In the distance you can admire Pevensey Bay and parts of Eastbourne and watch the sun fade away behind it. If you fancy a drink, or two, there’s no need to drive as Bexhill Station is practically on the beach. Head to <a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-relais-cooden-beach-bexhill-on-sea/hotel">The Relais</a> bar’s terrace, with a private beach and serving English sparkling you can add an extra layer of luxury to your day.</p>

<p>Without doubt, this is a gem in East Sussex’s crown. The undulating sand dunes with wild flowers growing offers plenty of rustic romance. Bring a picnic or flask with a hot drink and walk along the sandy beach admiring its raw beauty. If you’re game, you can do some beach yoga run by the hotel and practice some self-love salutations. </p>

<p>Even on a blustery day this beach is a showstopper! The breeze blows the sand gently in a dance that simply adds to the atmosphere. You’ll want to stay forever gazing out at the sea and enjoying this large expanse of sand. It’s great for a stroll or to set up camp for a few hours &#8211; when the weather allows. After that, you’d be wise to head towards Chichester for a cuppa. <p>Hurry, before it moves from it’s location (planned for 2026), the Observatory is continuing to host their star gazing events. When the weather allows you can look deep into the night sky though large telescopes. The beginning of February is a good time to see lots of planets. There’s no set times or agenda to the evening, you and your beau can simply stroll at your level and be romanced by the night sky. </p>

<p>There are plenty of romantic star gazing locations across Sussex from the Cissbury Ring to Devil’s Dyke but this spot is heralded as the best. On a clear night you can catch sight of the Milky Way. It’s a remote hilltop, so don’t do this one solo, but at dusk you’ll catch views of the Arun Valley before admiring the twinkling lights in the sky.
