<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/sussex/sheffield-park-and-garden/christmas-at-sheffield-park-and-garden" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Crafty Christmas family trail</a>, Sheffield Park and Garden, Uckfield, 10am-4pm, 26 Nov – 2 Jan (closed 24 and 25 Dec). Walk this route to discover the history of crafts throughout the ages. It’ll cover creative evolution – how your granny and great granny, and hey, your great great great great granny would pass down their skills from crochet to needlepoint.&nbsp;



<a href="https://chichesterchristmasmarket.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chichester Christmas market</a>, East Street and North Street, 9am-5.30pm Mon-Sat, 10am-4.30pm Sun 3-23 Dec. Lots of Christmas markets in Sussex are over just a few days, but Chichester’s offering takes place pretty much the entire month. That’s a lot of shopping to be done! With handmade ceramics, original artwork, seasonal gifts, glassware, unique jewellery, giftware, traditional toys, artisan cheeses, homemade pickles and more and more and more.

<a href="https://bolneywineestate.com/product/festive-sparkling-afternoon-teas" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Festive sparkling afternoon teas</a>, Bolney Wine Estate, near Haywards Heath 12-3pm, Mondays and Tuesdays until 20 Dec. Add some festive fizz to the classic afternoon tea with the wine connoisseurs at Bolney. You can enjoy the classic treats &#8211; scones with cream, finger sandwiches and cakes all with a Christmas spin alongside a sparkling wine flight of three wines. £50 per couple.



<a href="https://thepolizzicollection.com/content/the-star-festive-lunch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Festive lunch</a>, The Star Alfriston, until 23 December (excluding Sundays). One of Muddy’s favourite inns is hosting a very special menu this month with an emphasis on local produce. Highlights include South Coast scallops, Sussex red beef ‘osso buco’ and a clementine and pannetore treacle tart. Two courses, £35, three courses, £45.



<a href="https://alexanderhotels.co.uk/christmas-at-alexander-hotels/alexander-house-christmas-parties-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Après &#8211; ski inspired tapas</a>, Alexander House Hotel, East Grinstead, until February 2023. As the name suggests, this is a luxury private dining experience inspired by the Alps and the ski season taking place in a private room. Up to 10 guests can tuck into a supper of ski-inspired tapas served with mulled wine and themed canapés in the champagne bar first ending with&nbsp;roast chestnuts and mallows on the fire&nbsp;and chocolat-chaud. £60 per person based on 6 guests.

(Closed 24 and 25 Dec). The magical world of Potter’s The Tailor of Gloucester comes to life at this family exhibition, there’s also a cosy story corner and puzzles, stories and dressing up.



<a href="https://www.wealddown.co.uk/whats-on/family-activities/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Historic crafts demonstrations</a>, Weald &amp; Downland Museum, Chichester 10.30am–4pm. Sadly a lot of the Christmas events have sold out but there are still some slots for tree dressing (4 Dec) and wreath making (various dates), but there are still daily demonstrations and displays of historic crafts and trades and hot chocolates available too with rotating fires in the historic buildings.&nbsp;



<a href="https://www.thecapitolhorsham.com/whats-on/all-shows/cinderella/19103" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cinderella</a>, The Capitol, Horsham, 8 &#8211; Sat 31 Dec. Panto season is well and truly here, and The Capitol is bringing the classic fairytale to life with Siobhan Athwal in the lead role with credits including&nbsp;EastEnders&nbsp;and&nbsp;Emily Brontë, she knows a thing or two about creating theatrical magic. &nbsp;



<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/sussex/bodiam-castle/christmas-at-bodiam-castle" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Meet winter characters and see Father Christmas</a>, Bodiam Castle, Robertsbridge, 10am – 4pm, 3 Dec – 2 Jan. (Closed 24 and 25 Dec). He’s a well travelled man, but Father Christmas has chosen to count down to the 25th at the stunning 14th Century moated castle alongside his parter and the elves. There aren’t specific booking slots to see him, but he will be wandering around the Castle Courtyard and his sleigh will be parked up providing the perfect selfie spot. Plus Mother Christmas who will be sharing stories of dragons, knights and castles in the cosy tower room.&nbsp;

<a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/most-read/membership-at-leonardslee-lakes-gardens-sussex/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Illuminated</a>, Leonardslees Lakes &amp; Gardens, Horsham, 4-9.30pm, until 21 Dec.&nbsp; This is a magical winter light walk with impressive displays,&nbsp;music and theatrical performances to create all the festive feels you desire this season.



<a href="https://www.cowdray.co.uk/events/christmas-at-cowdray-2022-light-up-trails/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Light up trails</a>, Cowdray Estate Midhurst, 4.15pm-9.30pm until 31 Dec. Escape into the enchanting Cowdray woods via a magical route that is littered with sparkling illuminations and a winter soundscape. The walk starts in the woods and ends at the castle ruins.



<a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/wakehurst-light-trail-glow-wild-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Glow Wild</a>, Wakehurst, Haywards Heath, until 4 Jan. With a brand-new route for 2022 the beautiful latern-lit walk meanders through Kew’s wild botanic garden with eleven installations spanning light, colour, and sound to celebrate the wonders of nature all accompanied by bespoke soundscapes from Brighton artists, Ithaca. And it’s been decorated with 1,800 fairy lights <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/sussex/batemans/christmas-at-batemans" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Illuminated Christmas trees</a>, Bateman’s, Burwash, until 2 Jan. Christmas traditionalists will love the offerings at the 17th century house with welcoming log fire, and peacock-inspired decorations at this National Trust property. The main event is real trees decorated with twinkly lights and natural foliage and the exhibition of Claire Fletcher&#8217;s original watercolour illustrations.&nbsp;
