Festival of light
Light up your life with upcoming festival Enchanted Horsham which is set to create an illuminated summer wonderland over the weekend of 27, 28 and 29 July.
The family friendly event (under 16s get in free!) is a little unusual in that it runs 4pm to midnight each day.
As dusk falls, mystical creatures will be brought to life in the gardens. Discover a unicorn in a misty grove, meet a mermaid telling her tale by Smugglers’ Pond and see dragon eggs glowing in their hatchery.
Meanwhile woods and buildings will be used as a canvas for light art, with illuminated sculptures, trees strung with coloured bulbs and dramatic moving projections. You can also try VR technology to get a flying dragon’s eye view above the site.
There will be more fun with light in the neon circus tent with entertainment from trapeze acts, fire breathers, LED hula hoopers, bubble artists and more. There will even be a chance for budding performers of all ages to join circus skills workshops.
Or, you could simply take part in the silent disco, sporting colourful neon headphones, glow sticks and UV face paint. There will be three channels to choose from spanning techno to 80s and 90s floor-fillers.
Beyond the various illuminations, other attractions include live music, a vintage funfair, life-size puppets, food and handicraft stalls and a catwalk tent with fashion from local boutiques and Irregular Choice shoes.
It all takes place at Horsham Park and now’s the time to snap up earlybird tickets as Day Tickets are currently £20 for adults, while children under 16 go free. VIP Tickets allowing entry for all three days, access to the VIP marquee, a complimentary glass of prosecco and event programme are £75.
