Lovely local ways to treat your mum – or yourself!

Treating your mum? Hope to be treated yourself? (some chance). Either way, we have some alternative ideas to spoil the most important lady in your life.

Mama still got it! Candle

After the last two years it’s about time we treated our mums (or ourselves!), so shop local and support Sussex businesses with some lovely ways to show her she’s your No1.

Beauty Secrets Spa Pampering Gift Cards, from £50

Indulge mum with a beauty pamper at one of the four Beauty Secrets branches across Sussex. She can choose anything from manicures to massage and Reiki to reflexology (plus, they do aesthetic tweakments).

Lunch, Tamarisk, Felpham

Treat her to a two or three course slap-up lunch at this restaurant within the Beachcroft Hotel near Bognor Regis. The spacious light space, just on the beach is offering a selection of traditional English dishes freshly prepared with a modern twist by young chef Damian Czerny.

SevenSeventeen Mama Still Got it Candle, £24

This lovely limited-edition candle has been created in collaboration with comedic content creator and blogger Louise Boyce. Featuring a gorgeous rose geranium essential oil fragrance and with 100% of its profits to Pandas, a mental health charity for parents and carers, which is close to Louise’s heart.

Vineyard tour & wine-tasting, Wiston Estate, from £25

Set within Wiston Estate’s 6000 acres on the South Downs, where the vineyards benefit from ideal conditions for grape growing. Treat her to a tour of the newly refurbished winery and perhaps lunch at Chalk (their swishy new eaterie) afterwards.

Rock Rose Skincare Sets, from £15

This gorgeous natural, organic range was founded by three friends from Hastings. We love the lovely heart shaped balm (£15) or their gift sets (from £27) made with essential oils are the ideal way to get to know this beautiful brand.

Wakehurst, near Haywards Heath

Wakehurst is lovely all year round and if you’ve young kids in tow there are play areas a plenty to burn off some steam. Visit the Millennium Seed Bank or simply enjoy the 535 acres of gardens (phew!). More details on events year round see our highlights.

Spa Day at Alexander House & Utopia Spa, East Grinstead, from £180

The epic spa at Utopia

Who doesn’t love a spa day and at Alexander House there are a selection on offer including treatments and dining experiences to really pamper her.

Initial Gin Notebooks, £8 each

Gin loving mum? Steyning based Initial Gin by Georgie & Henners have some brilliant gifts including mugs, hoodies and even these bright notebooks alongside their usual spirits.

Stanmer Tea Rooms, Stanmer Park, near Brighton

This hidden gem is no ordinary tea room – as well as delicious bakes and sweet treats to takeaway if you’re on a walk, they have an Alice In Wonderland themed room for parties.

Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens, near Horsham

A stunning Grade I listed garden with its own Michelin-starred restaurant Interlude and vineyard, Leonardslee has got it all going on and is the perfect location to treat mum to lunch or an afternoon tea.
