<p>Gagh, those pesky purpley swiggles on the legs. Aka thread veins. These are caused by abnormally dilated blood vessels and often become more prominent and populous with age. The technical term for removing them is known as Sclerotherap. In English that means a solution called sclerosant is injected into the veins, they’re destroyed and disappear over time. You’ll need to wear a compression stocking or bandage after for a bit to help the process. Two sessions are recommended, but you’ll start to see improvements within two-three months of the first treatment. After that, you’ll be looking for outfits that show off your legs, it’s a good thing maxi&nbsp;skirts with high splits are back in fashion!</p>

<p>Every mum knows there’s that little bit of tummy after being pregnant that never quite goes back where it used to be. Teamed with the natural ageing process and if there’s been weight loss too you may well want to tighten things up. This procedure involves an expert surgeon making a curved incision from hip to hip across your lower tummy just above where bikini bottoms sit. The excess skin and fat will be removed and your abs realigned and tightened (hurrah) before everything is realigned to create a dream shape for your torso. Given that a tummy tuck is carried out under general anaesthetic, you’ll need to stay at The McIndoe Centre for one to three days. You’ll be wearing a customised corset or pants to help with the healing but the recovery time is around two weeks and you’ll have a follow up appointment with your consultant to remove the stitches. After that? It’ll be time to book that holiday and get the bikini out of retirement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the most popular and notorious of cosmetic surgeries (as well as taking a starring role in Legally Blonde), lipo is essentially the process of removing fat. If traditional weight loss and exercise have plateaued or there’s some areas where the fat won’t shift (we’re talking about you, thighs) this is the solution. Initially a consultant at The McIndoe Centre will mark on your body where they’ll remove fat from. During the surgery a high pressure vacuum removes the fat and you’ll see near instant results. You’ll of course have some swelling and bruising but within two months you’ll be feeling rather fabulous about your figure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ahh boobs, remember when they were perky and full? No, us neither. So pump ‘em up girl friend. Pregnancy and age can take their toll. A breast uplift does&nbsp;exactly what you think it does &#8211; it ‘lifts’ the breasts so they become firmer and higher.&nbsp;Amen to that. An expert surgeon will cut around the areola and remove excess skin and tissue, tighten the skin and recaps your boobs and the nipple moved to a natural level. The surgery will take around three hours and will take a few weeks for the new shape to reveal itself. You can combine this with a ‘boob job’ aka breast implants, where expert surgeons will create your desired size, shape and look.</p>

<p>We’ve gravity to, erm, ‘thank’ for pulling down the soft tissue around our eyes which can make them droop. A look not one quite wants. So to get your eyes back to their bright selves looking alert and more youthful, blepharoplasty aka eyelid surgery is the solution. On the upper lid, a surgeon&nbsp;will&nbsp;cut above the natural crease above your eyelid, remove excess fat and skin and usually you can go home that day. With the lower lid, it’s a little more technical where a surgeon&nbsp;will&nbsp;cut along the border of your lash line to the outside of your eye and move any fat. You’ll&nbsp;usually need to stay overnight. After that, you can treat yourself to some new eye makeup and play around with new looks again.</p>



<p>Whichever mummy makeover procedure you’re considering, it’s important to think the decision through carefully.
