<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-where">WHAT? WHERE?</h2>



This <a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/beachcroft-hotel-beach-hut-suites-felpham/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">special hotel </a>has long graced the seafront of Felpham Beach and is much loved by locals and regulars afar. So, when the beach hut suites were built by owner De Savary (armed with secret weapon: American interior designer Kathleen Fraser), things could only get better for this Sussex gem.



The suites&#8217; design and style coupled with the passion, hard work and friendliness of all the hotel staff. This pours into its daily operation (as underpinned by the late Mr Warham, who owned the Beachcroft Hotel in Felpham for a decade) has seen it win numerous awards, inclusive of our most coveted <a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/awards/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Best Hotel in our 2023 Muddies</a>) and in turn, it continues to be a symbol of true hospitality.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-vibe">THE VIBE</h2>



More a family beach house, the Beachcroft Beach Hut Suites are super stylish yet laid back and welcoming. With balconies looking out at the beautiful Sussex shores &#8211; iconic in their design and all the must have necessities needed to make the perfect summer beachside staycay.&nbsp;



Greeted by nautical accents, art deco and Sussex orientated artistry, you instantly feel at home – helped happily along by the human (they had us at the rose and sloe gin) and canine treats (toys and treats, with a promise of a sausage for breakfast, *woof*) on arrival, to make you feel extra pampered.



Each of the suites also has access to the main hotel residents lounge, with snooker table/or just to relax and read, the bar and bistro as well as a private pool which is bookable by guests to enjoy on their own. Cue &#8211; automatic win with the kids.



Outside guests can enjoy Blakes Bar &amp; Beach Terrace, which serves up tea cakes and croissants well before elevenses, lunches, and a pizza and gin bar by twilight. For Muddy that meant sipping our chosen gin amongst the fairy lights and private dining Pod, looking out to sea as you watch the sailing boats roll by. Divine.



The aspect that families will love is the sheer ‘non-proximity’ to the beach for buckets, spades, and wetsuits – there is minimal need for lugging and maximum waves to jump and surf in. This part pebbled and part sandy bit of Sussex coastline makes it a haven for keeping Muddy tots occupied, and the pooch will adore the surf too.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-scoff-and-quaff">SCOFF AND QUAFF</h2>



Along with the great dining at Blakes, Beachcroft’s restaurant, Tamarisk has always been “seriously good&#8221; in Muddy&#8217;s eyes. I suggest the scallops and the lamb with dauphinoise and kids will be buzzing when they see the very generous portion of profiteroles.



Our supper at Blakes included three beautifully cooked stone baked pizza’s with very specific toppings on request (by daughter no 2) and a glass of cold fizz for Mummy to boot – cheers! The team couldn’t do more to make you feel comfortable with blankets and cushions to enjoy the alfresco experience and that view for as long as possible.&nbsp;

Full English and continental breakfasts are served for all guests inclusive of your stay or you can opt for a delectably huge hamper delivered straight to your door.



A short meander around the promenade you’ll find the Lobster Pot, just behind the row of majestic huts which looked like a great option for seafood and of course we sampled the ice-creams.



But you&#8217;ll want to book into afternoon tea, freshly made, of course, with sea views (of course 2.0). The tiers will include classic finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream or should that be cream and jam? Lets not start that debate. You&#8217;ll have cakes, tea or coffee and the option to add a glass of English Sparkling from Tinwood. Don&#8217;t mind if I do!

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-stay">STAY</h2>



Each suite comfortably accommodates two adults and two children in a mezzanine master bedroom and second bedroom with bunk beds.



Super comfortable beds, cozy robes and toiletries await along with a corner sofa, Netflix-enabled smart TV, family friendly board games and some seaside colouring in options for little ones (back away Daddy, we know you stay within the lines like a pro). Home from home touches include a Nespresso coffee machine, Smeg kettle and rose in the fridge, all the obvious essentials for maximum chill time.

For adult-only stays, you can hire bikes to explore the extensive (seven miles in fact) of easy coastal path and the hotel can advise on 10 countryside and coastal walks from the doorstep, within one hour, making it ideal for discovering more of what the area has to offer or to work up an appetite.&nbsp;



I’m a live from the suitcase kind of gal but if you like to unpack there is plenty of drawer and wardrobe space, and did I mention the beds were supremely comfortable for plenty of sea air induced snoozing. The mezzanine master comes with its own TV if you want to switch on something other than CBeebies.



Now for the pièce de résistance. The thing that will simply make your stay – is the balcony late at night whilst sipping the remainder of that rose or sloe gin (if there is any left), or first thing with your coffee, watching the sunrise before the little &#8216;cherubs&#8217; commence their fanfare. Because this isn’t, even in height of summer, a place that swarms with tourists, it is total tranquillity. At night even without the window open to hear the waves lapping almost to the foot of the huts was just dreamy.&nbsp;



The family bathroom is luxe looking, with neutral vibe, equipped with a strong power shower, you may want to pack a few extra toiletries for more than 2-nights.



Living wise, there were more than enough seating for the whole family to stretch out and enjoy watching a film on the big TV, with wifi and even the dog has an uber comfortable bed to slumber in. Top tip – bring extra dog towels.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-kid-friendly">KID FRIENDLY?</h2>



Yes, without hesitation! With buckets, spades and fishing nets at the ready, the team do all they can to make sure the kids feel maximum fun during their stay. We had a gloriously sunny day on arrival so spent the entire time on the beach, but being blighty, should it rain, the indoor pool and snooker table are more than enough to keep kids entertained. The Beachhut Suites is the perfect escape for outdoor loving families, who adore sandy toes and salty skin with all manner of watersport activities right on the doorstep.&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-muddy-verdict">THE MUDDY VERDICT</h2>



Good for:&nbsp;Families (along with four legged varieties) looking for a relaxing base with easy access of family entertainment – and uber kid friendly – beach access for all manner of outdoor sports; walkers wanting to be on the south coast without the tourist frenzy; couples seeking a quiet weekend with sea-views; winter storm-watchers and those seeking a quieter beach-side hotel. Parking is plentiful and easy. Wheelchair accessible. The staff are wholeheartedly observant on this, plus there are trails that can be accessed from the door. Super-fast WIFI included makes it a great place for families where someone needs to work while the other takes the kids to the beach.



Not for:&nbsp;It’s perhaps not for someone who wants their hotels with a side of town-like amenities. There are beauty salons and café/dining options a short walk away but the beauty of Beachcroft is all your needs will be met without as much as a moderately paced amble from your beachside residence. Top tip – wake early for your walkies along the promenade, which makes it beautifully quiet and perfect start to a day of fun, complete with sun rising over the dawn surf.
