<p>Charge into this medieval festival that kings and queens of all ages will love! From reenactments to traditional merriment, you’ll be battling against a whole lot of fun. Think of this as an immersive&nbsp;<em>Game of Thrones-</em>style experience – the PG version, that is. From medieval reenactments&nbsp;to archery lessons, scroll writing to silversmithing, there’s something for everyone – yes, even your reluctant teen. This is the joust’s closing weekend, so prepare to harness a finale-worthy energy surge!&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of Europe’s biggest seafront airshows, this annual Eastbourne spectacle is entirely free. Planes will soar above the two mile seafront path, with the Red Arrows making a special appearance. There will be of course be flying displays as well as military exhibitions, fireworks and aerobatics. On the ground, you can enjoy live music, entertainment for the kids and food trucks. Seating can be booked on the sea front. (We hear the views are also pretty spectacular from the&nbsp;<a href="https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-relais-cooden-beach-bexhill-on-sea/">Relais, Cooden Beach</a>.)&nbsp;</p>

<p>Struggling to find a fab festival for the whole family this summer? Look no further than this star-studded feast. Sink your teeth in to celeb talks from the likes of Greg Rutherford, Dr. Chintal Patel and Jane of Jane’s Patisserie fame, while taking your tastebuds on a stroll around the best street food. Kids can meet Bluey and try out the dance academy while adults can take advantage of the cocktail bar and live music.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Keep it cool this summer with Rye’s annual celebration of all things jazzy and bluesy. Highlights of this year’s programme include legendary saxophonist Courtney Pine, R&amp;B diva Ruby Turner, and acid funk kings the James Taylor Quartet. Check out fringe events while you’re at it, and listen out for free street music that’s set to fill this gem-of-a-town’s cobbled lanes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Want to relive your Ibiza days without the financial- or booze-induced hangover? You can be transported passport-free to the White Isle via Brighton beach, where a full orchestra, DJs and live vocalists will be performing classic anthems from the club land’s heyday. There’ll be street food, bars and a full-on party – not for the faint of heart! </p>

<p>Dancing to a rather different beat is on offer at Michelham this bank holiday weekend, where you can pick up some authentic Tudor moves. Have-a-go axe throwing will also be on offer, together with beginners’ chainmail-making and silversmithing workshops. There are less hands-on demonstrations, along with authentic encampments to help conjure the smells, sounds, and sights of everyday life from the 10th to the 16th centuries. Watch out for the festival’s resident jester, Devilstick Peat!&nbsp;</p>

<p>A final few tickets remain (at the time of writing!) for the county’s child-friendly wonder fest, celebrating all things wild and beautiful, from cabaret and dance to cookery, crafts and outdoor spas. There are a whopping 200 workshops on offer over the long weekend, plus all-day dance and DJ sessions, live music and cabaret come dusk, and nourishing talks on everything from nurturing a wild biome to kicking the plastic habit. Foodie options are suitably sustainable, including Lewes favourite Pat’s Pizza and pakoras by The Peckish Peacock.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For a somewhat more sophisticated soirée, how about a spot of world-class opera at Glyndebourne? Performances take place indoors (nice try, rain) but you’re invited to picnic in the suitably magnificent gardens during 90-minute intervals. This year’s festival still has (limited) availability for performances of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Verdi’s Falstaff and the lesser-known Káta Kabanová by Jánaček. Time to dig out that evening dress, ladies!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Without a doubt the most glamourous event in Sussex, Goodwood Revival is the ultimate vintage fashion experience. It’s an immersive event staged entirely in period theme – recreating the glory days of Goodwood motor racing from 1948-1966&nbsp;– bringing back to life treasured cars, vintage fashion and, most significantly, the concept of a less disposable world. You can of course watch vintage cars race around the legendary track but the event is so much more than that. Revival is a metaphorical catwalk for creative ways to live stylishly&nbsp;<em>and&nbsp;</em>sustainably.&nbsp;</p>
